Cybersecurity Presales Engineer

The Cybersecurity Presales Engineer serves as the key technical advisor to the sales team. This role focuses on understanding customer needs, designing appropriate security solutions, and offering effective proposals based on the company’s products and services.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related technical field.


Technical Skills:

  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies in areas such as:

    • Network Security

    • Endpoint Security

    • Cloud Security

    • Identity and Access Management (IAM)

    • Threat Detection and Prevention

    • Encryption and Data Protection

    • Security Operations

    • Security Compliance and Regulations

  • Proficiency with cybersecurity tools and technologies used for vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and security analysis.


Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)

  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)

  • CompTIA Security+

  • Certificates from leading cybersecurity vendors (e.g., IBM, Cisco, Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet, CyberArk, etc.)

  • Familiarity with a wide range of cybersecurity products, solutions, and services in the market.

  • In-depth understanding of current threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.


Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey technical information to non-technical clients.

  • Ability to understand client needs, build relationships, and articulate the value of cybersecurity solutions.

  • Collaborative communication with sales teams, clients, and internal technical staff.

  • Consultative problem-solving approach.


General Requirements:

  • Ability to analyze complex cybersecurity challenges and design appropriate solutions.

  • Strong documentation skills to prepare technical proposals, diagrams, and reports.

  • Accurate record-keeping of client interactions and technical documentation.

  • Knowledge of regulations and compliance standards (ISO27001, NIST, CIS, etc.).

  • Commitment to staying updated with emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies.

  • A passion for continuous learning and self-improvement.

  • Fluency in Azerbaijani and English (required); Russian (preferred).


Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand the technical aspects of cybersecurity products and services and communicate their value to potential clients.

  • Work closely with the sales team to identify customer requirements and deliver technical solutions that support successful sales outcomes.

  • Continuously track cybersecurity products, services, and trends.

  • Participate in client meetings to identify needs, conduct technical discussions, and deliver tailored solution presentations.

  • Collaborate with technical and engineering teams to develop customized cybersecurity solutions for specific client requirements.

  • Prepare technical responses to RFPs (Request for Proposals) and RFIs (Request for Information).

  • Collaborate with technology vendors to explore, develop, and validate new solutions.

  • Create technical documentation (e.g., technical proposals, diagrams) explaining proposed solutions.

  • Support planning and execution of pilot projects that validate proposed cybersecurity solutions.

  • Document best practices, sample scenarios, and reference architectures.

  • Conduct competitive analysis of the company’s cybersecurity offerings against alternative market solutions.

  • Deliver training sessions for the sales team and, when needed, for clients to ensure a better understanding of the offered solutions and products.

  • Gather client feedback on proposed solutions and communicate this to the company, acting as a bridge between client and company.

  • Investigate and respond to technical inquiries to eliminate customer concerns and support successful sales.

  • Continuously improve skills and pursue certifications in line with the company’s business needs.

  • Stay informed about new technologies, certifications, and industry trends (e.g., Zero Trust, XDR, Threat Intelligence, Cloud Security, etc.).

  • Number of successful PoC (Proof of Concept) and demo presentations.

  • Conversion rate of presales activities to sales.

  • Customer satisfaction feedback.
